Rumohra - Leather Fern, Leatherleaf Fern

DESCRIPTION:This handsome, frost-tender Fern, commonly known as Leather Fern or Leatherleaf Fern, is epiphytic. This fern will grow from 30 to 36 inches high and wide. It has glossy dark green fronds, growing up to 2 feet long. They are oval, diamond- or lance-shaped and leathery, with pairs of stalked segments.

POTTING: This Fern needs a minimum temperature of 50 degrees. In cold climates, grow as a house or conservatory plant. It should be attached to a wad of moss on bark, since this plant is epiphytic in growth. A very humid atmosphere is necessary.

PROPAGATION: This plant is increased by division in the spring.

VARIETIES: R. adiantiformis.
