DESCRIPTION: This deciduous fern is also known as the Ostrich Fern or Ostrich-Feather Fern. The fronds of this plant grow erectly or with a slight arch. They are deciduous (leaf-losing), lance-shaped and bright, clear green. The dark brown, inner, fertile fronds are winter persistent. The Ostrich Fern grows up to 3 feet high with a spread of 18 inches and is excellent for planting by water.

POTTING: It will tolerate part-day sun and prefers wet soil.

PROPAGATION: This Fern can be increased by division in the fall or winter.

VARIETIES: M. struthiopteris.
