Luzula - Snowy Woodrush
DESCRIPTION: Luzula nivea, the Snowy Woodrush, is a perennial grown for ornament. This plant forms clumps of dark green, linear leaves that are fringed with white hairs. Tiny, bright white flowers are produced in early summer. This plant looks lovely in the woodland garden.
POTTING: Most Rushes prefer moist or wet soil in a sunny or partially shaded location, although this one likes a bit drier conditions. Make sure the soil has adequate drainage.
PROPAGATION: Seeds may be sown in the fall, or the plants may be divided in the spring.
VARIETIES: L. nivea.
