HELONIOPSIS
DESCRIPTION: This perennial grows wild in the mountain woodlands, scrub and meadows of Japan, Korea, and Sakhalin Island. This plant forms rosettes of medium green, lance-shaped leaves. In late spring or early summer, small, dainty flowers with thin, rose-pink petals are produced in pendant clusters atop stout stems.
POTTING: Grow this plant in moist, but well-drained, humus rich soil, in a cool and shady location.
PROPAGATION: Seeds may be sown in the spring or fall, or the plants may be divided in the fall.
VARIETIES: H.orientalis.
