Dichromena - Star Grass
DESCRIPTION: This tender, aquatic Sedge is commonly known as Star Grass. It grows from 12 to 18 inches high and produces tufts of bright green stems, which are topped with white, star-shaped flower bracts.
POTTING: Plant Star Grass in 2- to 5-gallon containers of slightly acidic soil and set in shallow water around the perimeter of your pond. It should be in a sunny or partially shady location. When the foliage becomes gangly prune back to encourage fresh growth. In cold climates, winter in a heated greenhouse or indoors with adequate lights.
PROPAGATION: This plant is increased by division.
