Austrocedrus - Chilean Cedar
DESCRIPTION: This group consists of one evergreen conifer. A. chilensis (Chilean Cedar) is a handsome, slow-growing tree for mild climates. It develops a columnar head of branches. The branchlets are flattened and divided to give a mossy or ferny appearance. The sea green leaves are scale-like and borne in unequal, opposite, V-shaped pairs. This tree produces small, solitary cones.
POTTING: The Chilean Cedar requires a moist soil, though it must have good drainage. It dislikes cold, dry wind.
