Athrotaxis - King William Pine, Summit Cedar

DESCRIPTION: This group consists of three, evergreen conifers from Tasmania. They are commonly known as King William Pines or Summit Cedars. A. laxifolia is a small- to medium-sized tree that forms a domed crown. The leaves are only ΒΌ-inch long, partly adpressed to the branches and partly spreading. The bark of this tree is brown and furrowed. Small, bright green cones that turn orange then brown are produced abundantly.

POTTING: These trees can only be grown in mild climates, in moist, but well-drained, loamy soil, in a sheltered site.
