Garden Pest and Plant Disease Listing - RU
RUST: A fungal disease that forms small pustules of red-brown (sometimes purple) spores on the undersides of leaves, which eventually turn yellow and die. It infects many plants, including roses, hollyhocks, snapdragons, and some lawn grasses. Warm days, cool nights, and wet foliage encourage this disease. To control, clean up dead leaves and infected plants, avoid overhead watering late in the day, or spray with traditional fungicides. Heavier fertilization and more frequent moving will help control rust in lawns.
