Garden Pest and Plant Disease Listing - PS

PSYLLID: This is a small, fly-like insect that feeds on the leaves and buds of many plants, causing misshapen, cupped foliage and leaf drop. The pear psyllid is one of the most damaging, releasing a toxin or virus, while feeding, which can kill plants. These flies are sometimes accompanied by honeydew, sooty mold, and leaf galls. Dormant oil sprays, insecticidal soaps, and sulfur can be used on fruit trees; otherwise, traditional pesticides are used.
