MUMMY BERRY: This fungus causes blueberries to rot, wither, and fall off. Like other fungi, it flourishes in warm, moist areas without good air circulation. Destroy infected fruit. Prune selectively to thin out branches and open the plant to light and air. If mummy berry is a problem in your area, choose a resistant variety, such as highbush 'Spartan'.
