Garden Pest and Plant Disease Listing - GO
GOPHER: These cute, but hard-to-control critters burrow below the ground, devouring roots, bulbs, and sometimes whole plants. They are best controlled with traps or screen barriers around the roots of valuable plants. Line the planting holes with wire mesh before setting in your plant. This prevents the animals from reaching the main roots. Some nurseries sell prefabricated wire baskets for use in planting holes. If you're persistent and follow instructions closely, you can control gophers with traps.
