PUBERULENT: Covered with fine, short down.

PUBESCENCE: 1. A covering of down or hair, as on the surface of a leaf. 2. The state of having such a covering.

PUBESCENT: Fuzzy; covered with down or hairs, as the leaves of the African Violet.

PUDDLED SOIL: Thick, massive soil, artificially compacted when wet, a common result of tillage of clayey soil when it is wet.

PULSE: 1. The edible seeds of cultivated leguminous plants, such as peas, lentils, and beans. 2. Any of the various plants that produce pulse.

PULVERANT: A term applied to ungranulated fertilizers that are largely powdered.

PULVINATE: Cushion-shaped.

PUNCTATE: Having the surface marked with pits, points, or dots.

PUSTULAR: Having bumps, as though blistered.

PUSTULE: A raised bump or area.
