KNEE: 1. A sharp bend in a tree branch2. A protruding enlargement of the roots at the base of certain swamp-growing trees.

KNEELER: A device to help gardeners lower themselves down or push themselves up from a kneeling position. It usually has handholds several feet high attached to a cushioned platform. It may be reversed and used as a garden bench.

KNEELING PADS: A usually rectangular and waterproof mat that is used for cushioning the knees while gardening.

KNEEPADS: Cushions that are strapped behind the knees to protect the kneecaps while kneeling or crawling.

KNOT: A lump or swelling in or on a part of a plant, such as the node of grass, or the thick part of the wood of a tree where a branch grows out of the trunk.

KNURL: A thick, deformed knot in wood.
